With these cold winter days among us, Rotterdam is greyer and slightly depressing then ever. People are just rushing in the morning to get to work and at the end of the day from work to home. Everyone wants to head back to their warm nest.
I don’t want to sound negative, I really don’t! But there’s nothing about winter that I like. Off course I love Christmas and New Years Eve. But sometimes it seems impossible to find a warm, comfortable and fashionable outfit. If I can be totally honest, I just want to stay home, chill in my P’j’s and drink hot chocolate. But isn’t that even more depressing? So why not combine the best of both worlds.
A big comfy sweater is by far my most favorite item during winter, and I can’t tell you how happy I am with my comfortable Kenzo sweater! For me the key to a comfortable, warm and fashionable (winter) outfit is to keep your legs & neck warm. Like the turtle neck that Sam is wearing. Now you must be wondering how can a skirt keep you warm? Well, the answer to that are thights and overknee boots. Overknee boots aren’t only super feminine, but it’s also ideal for winter days because your legs stay warm. (p.s these boots are another favourite winter item of mine..) While i’m typing this I think to myself that when I look good, I feel good. And that by wearing a nice outfit, (which is comfortable at the same time) Winter isn’t really that depressing as I thought. It’s about making an effort instead of moping around and being grumpy about things we can’t control in the first place.
Love from Mel.
