‘’I swear, this is the last item, after this I won’t buy clothes anymore.’’
Raise your hand if you have said this a million times before. I can’t count the amount of times Mel and I said this to each other.
Online shopping has made it more difficult for us to resist the temptation. And especially now that shops have a new collection out every week. With one click we enter the shop, we scroll through the pages and put our favorite items in our virtual basket. When the delivery man rings the doorbell we feel a certain excitement. As if we are receiving a gift we bought for ourselves. But somehow we end up feeling guilty. Did we really needed another jacket? Yes, because we haven’t got a ethnic embroidered jacket yet.
We are two girls who are madly in love with fashion. Whenever we open the doors of our closets we have a Carrie Bradshaw moment. Each and every item in our closet has a story and brings back a certain memory or feeling. My sleeveless trench coat leads me back to my tript to Paris. Melisa’s pink coat constant reminds her of never letting her inner girly, childish side go. I can imagine that some find it strange that we spend so much money on fashion items. But if you’ll think about it, everyone has their own thing. Some may spend it on a wild night out, while others will spend their money on their nails, video-games or on tools. As long as we don’t end up broke what’s the harm? We just have to stop making excuses for ourselves and enjoy, if it makes you happy, just do it!
I end this post with a very wise quote from my beloved mother.
‘ A girl can never have enough shoes, bags, jewelry, lingerie & clothes.’ –
